BROEDER: THE LOST SON
BEING BARALIAN IS A SIN. At least, that's what the sacred oracle has decreed. Baralians are heretics with "bad blood" who have no regard for the Montoenian gods. As such, they are the villains of children's books, criminals in the news, and accused of everything from economic recession to supernatural misfortune. Having even a portion of this tainted blood in one's veins could have a person black-listed, or worse. Yet for most of his life, young bounty hunter, JoSethaniel (Joey) Gron, has hidden the fact that he's actually a native of Baralia—a war orphan from the Great War's massacre fourteen years earlier.
However, his secret and the new life he has painstakingly pieced together since the war becomes threatened after a job to capture some museum thieves leaves him marred by the oracle's curse. In order to break free, he must travel back to his conquered homeland before the oracle's power consumes him. Along the way, he must face the oracle's elite guard, mysterious beasts, and a chance encounter with shadows from his past.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born a “military brat” to two parents in the American air force, EA Holland was accustomed to moving from place-to-place in early childhood, living from coast-to-coast (from the Carolinas to California) and exploring everything in-between. Her parents, being big history buffs and nature-lovers, also made sure that she and her siblings were exposed to a variety of life experiences to include visiting historical ruins, national forests, and cultural sites. This sparked a love of exploration and adventure that she would later use as inspiration in her writing.
Like Tolkien, she believes escapism is an important part of literature and entertainment. As such, though she enjoys a variety of genres, her favorite stories are those in which she can explore new worlds through fantasy and even science fiction.
